The school of prophets, Abraham the first prophet mentioned in the Bible , Genesis 20:7 NKJV
[7] Now therefore, restore the man’s wife ; for he (Abraham) is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her,  know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”

Hello beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, you’re blessed and highly favoured.

Today, we’re starting a new series of blog posts on the prophetic and the title of this series will be “The School of Prophets“. I’m not a self proclaimed prophet but I will share with you a few things I learned on the prophetic through The Bible, books, and Pastors’ sermons

Genesis 20:7 NKJV
[7] Now therefore, restore the man’s wife ; for he (Abraham) is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you shall live. But if you do not restore her,  know that you shall surely die, you and all who are yours.”

Is it not particularly interesting to notice that the first one in the Bible that’s identified as a prophet by God Himself is Abraham? It is. If you know a few things about the story of Abraham from the book of Genesis, you know that Abraham never gathered crowds to tell them their past or their future, he didn’t tell people what was the colour of their underwear, how much they had in their bank accounts, nor who in their village went to lock their name in a padlock in a shrine, however, God called him a prophet. This means that what we know today as being a prophet may not exactly englobe everything that God actually englobes in the word prophet.

I believe I already told you on this blog that the Old Testament was written in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek. Let’s go to the Strong’s concordance to look for the word prophet in Genesis 20:7 so as to see what it actually means.

The word prophet in the Old Testament text Genesis 20:7 is 5030 nabiy’ naw-bee’ נָבִיא and it is derived from 5012; 5030 means a prophet or (generally) inspired man:–prophecy, that prophesy, prophet.

Note that this isn’t the only word translated into English language as “prophet” in the Bible. In the next days, we will look into the different meanings and we’ll go deeper into knowing more about the prophetic.

Prayer

Father in The Name of The Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You this new series on the prophetic. Grant me understanding of the Scriptures and the concepts, and help me to apply them in my daily life, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Father bless and support this ministry in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen
