Hello everyone, I hope you’re all fine by God’s grace and you’re preparing prayerfully for Easter. Today’s post is about the salvation status of our friends.
Salvation Status, is a term used when talking about the state of someone’s relationship with Jesus Christ. Is the person saved or not?  Does he/she have a personal relationship with The Lord Jesus Christ ? Do they have eternal life in Christ Jesus ?
Romans 6:23 NIV

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

When we believe in God, and we read those Bible verses which talk about unequal yoking, it’s normal to ask ourselves what’s the salvation status of our best friend, date, fiancé, husband etc.
2 Corinthians 6:14-16 KJV

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? [15] And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? [16] And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them ; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Moreover, have you ever noticed that, the more you love someone, the more you care about the person’s welfare and well-being? It goes the same with respect to salvation. The more you love someone, the more you want the person to develop a personal relationship with God, to grow in knowledge of The Bible, to draw closer to God. This is not only because you are afraid that the person may go to hell if he/she dies now, but mostly because you would love the person to go to Heaven and spend eternity with God. When you’ve experienced God’s grace and love, of course you want others to experience it too. When you’re excited about your relationship with God, you want everyone to develop a relationship with God, you want all the people you know to meet Jesus Christ.

John 1:45-46 KJV
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. [46] And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

Unfortunately, this post isn’t aimed at giving you a fool-proof method or prayer to bring about at your chosen time the conversion of your:

  • Unbelieving parent
  • Backsliding best friend
  • Atheist date
  • Agnostic sibling
  • Idol-worshiping neighbour.

I can’t provide for a clear method you’ll use which will make them turn to Christ. However, I can assure you of these truths.
1. It’s all about divine election
Romans 8:29 ESV / 30

For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

Ephesians 2:8-10 ESV

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 1:4 ESV

Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

God knows everyone of His people by their names. He has chosen them before hand. Hence, be sure, that if he has chosen your dad/mom/brother/sister/best friend/spouse, He’s not gonna miss out on them. They’ll end up believing.
2. God knows His sheep
John 10:14,16 KJV

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep , and am known of mine. [16] And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

John 10:25‭-‬30 NIV

Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me,  but you do not believe because you are not my sheep.  My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.  I and the Father are one.”

When Jesus says that no one can snatch them from His hands, He means it. Every one who has been chosen by God will end up belonging to God. No matter how long it takes, just pray for them not with despair but with total faith that God is in control.
3. God (not you) is The One who converts
Ezekiel 36:25‭-‬27 NIV

I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

The Holy Spirit of God is going to bring them to God in His time. Continue preaching, continue praying, and trust Him so that He will change their hearts.
Finally, it’s important to care about the salvation status of our friends and to pray for them, but it’s also important to care about our own salvation status. How can we try to bring someone to Christ Jesus if we ourselves we haven’t received Him in our lives as personal Lord and Saviour, if we don’t live Christ in our everyday life? Let’s reflect on this.
Prayer
Father Lord Eternal King of Glory, I thank You because You’ve made salvation available in Christ Jesus. Lead all my friends, loved ones, and even my enemies to Him, that Jesus Christ may become The Lord of their lives. Also, help me live my faith in The Lord Jesus Christ every day.  In Jesus Christ’s Name I pray.
Amen
