Hello beloved of The Lord, you’re blessed and highly favoured.
Culturally, a father has three main roles : As the Head of the family, he is the protector, provider and the disciplinarian of a family.
Many Christians don’t see God as their Father. They will call Him Father during prayer and worship but their thoughts, lifestyle, worries and attitude show that they don’t really believe that God is their Father. Acknowledge God as your Father. He has already adopted you, now it is time for you to accept His Fatherhood over you.
God as your protector: Believe that God is your Father, that He is big enough to protect you and your family from witches/wizards, poison, accidents and all forms of negativity
God as your provider/source: Believe that God is your Father, that because He is your source you shall never lack, you shall never be poor.
God as your disciplinarian: Believe that God is your Father, He gives the rules and you must obey. You don’t get to rebel against Him because you honour Him. He is allowed to correct you and your responsibility is to listen to His correction and to adjust your behaviour.
Prayer:
- Father, I know that You have adopted me as your child. Today I submit to You and I acknowledge You as my Father, my protector, source and disciplinarian in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen
Assignment :
- Make a list of the responsibilities/duties of a father. Acknowledge that those are the responsibilities of God towards you because He is your Father.
- Make a list of the responsibilities/duties of a child. Acknowledge that those are your responsibilities towards God since He is your Father.
