Hi everyone, I hope you’re all fine by God’s grace. Today’s post is about rejoicing with our friends.
In general, when our friends experience something wonderful, we should be the ones rejoicing for them and with them.
It’s true that at times our friends obtain way before us things we’ve wished for and prayed for during weeks, months or even years. At times those are even things which never really interested them, or which never interested them as much as they interested us. Instead of feeling miserable or envious , we should rejoice for them.
There’ll always be occasions to rejoice for our loved ones.
1. We can rejoice for our friends who have found someone or something they had lost
Luke 15:6 KJV

And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

2. We can rejoice for our friends who are getting married (Even if we’ve been expecting marriage for a long time and are still expecting, or even when we are just from breaking up with our fiancé )
John 3:29 KJV

He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.

3. We can rejoice for our married friends who are expecting babies
Luke 1:57-58 KJV

Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. [58] And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

What’s certain is that in their lives, our friends will have really  important moments which they will like to share with us, but if in their “small” moments of joy we are unable to demonstrate honest cheerful support towards them, they won’t be able to open up to us when “big” joyful moments will come up.
Romans 12:15a KJV

Rejoice with them that do rejoice,

What can we conclude? When something nice happens to your friends rejoice with them. Find time, energy and/or a way to rejoice with them and make them feel supported, that’s part of friendship.

Prayer
Father Lord King of Glory, please teach me to be patient for the things I pray for,  and to rejoice sincerely with my friends when they obtain what they’ve been praying for. In Jesus Christ’s Name I pray, Amen
