I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.1 Timothy 2:1‭-‬2 NIVhttps://bible.com/bible/111/1ti.2.1-2.NIV

Hello blessed child of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace and I hope you’re ready for today’s blog post.
This is something The Lord has been teaching me recently.
A few weeks ago I was watching a LIVE prayer session on YouTube from Hungry Generation Church. Amongst all the prayer topics one of the things I really appreciated was the fact that Pastor Vlad said “Let’s pray for the salvation of our President Donald Trump.”
He said many things about the president amongst which the fact that he has the type of temperament which doesn’t fear people. “If there’s a president who can decide to speak in tongues in front of everyone without caring, then it’s him” said Pastor Vlad.
They all came together and prayed for the salvation of president Donald Trump.
A few days afterwards, I was watching an Interview on YouTube between Sid Roth (It’s Supernatural) and Henry Gruver. Henry Gruver also talked about the importance of praying for the salvation of our leaders, for the salvation of our President.
He shared about what God showed him about the supreme leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un. He said God showed him that Kim Jong-un had a repetitive nightmare in which he was being assassinated.
Henry Gruver then tried to reach out to Kim Jong-un and meet him, but God prevented him. Instead, God made him meet the leading pastors of North Korea and under God’s instruction, he told them that they had to stop praying for the death of president Kim Jong-un and start praying for his salvation.
They all repented before God because they knew that they were teaching their churches to pray for the death of a person while God is merciful and ready to save.
If you take time to do a Google search about him, you’ll find out about a certain number of crimes against humanity which he committed. Because of the harsh conditions in North Korea, a certain number of Christians thought the only solution was the death of their supreme leader. So, they started praying for God to kill Kim Jong-un. Anyways, God convicted them, they repented and started praying for his salvation.
By the way, in the genealogy of Kim Jong-un there are people whom God used for a great move of Christianity through The Holy Spirit in North Korea. We thus assume that his grand parents were probably praying for the salvation of the generations afterwards. We don’t know yet if Kim Jong-un will become a Christian, but what we know is that God wants all to be saved, so no matter the sins of Kim Jong-un we have to keep praying for his salvation.
Romans 13:1 ESV

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

1 Timothy 2:1‭-‬4 ESV

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Proverbs 21:1 ESV

The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord ; he turns it wherever he will.

Think about it.
I live in Cameroon, in Africa. In a good number of African countries, almost everyone complains about the president. The difficult economic situation, the lack of jobs, lack of infrastructure for studies, corruption, sufferings, poverty, embezzlement, push people to hate their rulers. Since very often our African presidents remain presidents for all their lives or almost all their lives, people believe that the only solution is the death of the president.
Christians aren’t exempt of this. Some of them see the death of the president as the only hope. As such they start wishing and praying for the death of the president.
The Bible commands us to guard our hearts.
Matthew 5:28 KJV

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

In the same way, when you wish in your heart that someone dies, you are committing murder in your heart.
Matthew 5:22 KJV

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

God is convicting us all of this today. The only hope is not the death of the president, leader, boss, Minister etc etc , the only hope is JESUS CHRIST.
God can change any desperate situation, and even the “worst sinner”(as we all are) God can save them.
Look at Paul, look at how he persecuted Christians. Imagine if the early believers had prayed for Paul’s death, imagine if he had not been saved by The Lord Jesus Christ? Most of The New Testament books wouldn’t exist. Paul wrote a good number of them under the direction of The Holy Spirit.
For the moment all that you see is how much this person hurts you and makes your life unbearable, but God has a plan for all of us.
For some people it’s not their president whom they wish would be dead. They have a hard time with their parents, or siblings, or teachers, or friends, or spouse and they wish this person would just die because of all the evil things they did to them, but this is not what Jesus Christ teaches us.
He taught us to love even those who hurt us and pray for those who persecute us.
Matthew 5:44‭-‬48 KJV

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

It’s high time to raise our standards as Christians, to repent for wishing/praying that God may kill the people who make us have a hard time, it’s time to pray for these people that God may save them, that they may come to life in Christ Jesus.
Pray for the salvation of the people who make you suffer.
Prayer
Father Lord God Almighty, I thank You so much for opening my eyes today on the state of my heart. Lord please change my heart, so that I may stop wishing the death of the president of our country or those who hurt me, but to pray for them to receive The Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.

It’s Now Your Turn

Start praying for the salvation of the leaders in your country and for all those who hurt you.
