But now, O Lord , you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.Isaiah 64:8 ESVhttps://bible.com/bible/59/isa.64.8.ESV

Hello beloved child of God and Happy New Year.

God has been so good and He has made a way for us to enter 2019. Let’s rejoice in Him for this.

Entering into a new year is something so special. For me, as every year starts I have the impression that I am starting a new life and that I am a new version of myself, and that it’s going to be a new beginning for me.

Nevertheless, a few days after the beginning of the new year, I realize that it’s still the same me. It’s not because it’s a new year that I have immediately changed. The New Year doesn’t really change people.

We’re a few days into 2019 and you’ve probably noticed that you are still the same person. Perhaps some things have changed about your mindset but you realize that you’re still the same; your weaknesses are still there, your bank account didn’t suddenly get filled with money because you entered 2019, your family problems haven’t changed immediately once you entered 2019.

Here’s where I explain this part of the title of my blog post. My favourite song of 2018.

In 2018, my favourite song was Hillsong Worship – Seasons. I already shared about this song during Lent last year, but I think it’s appropriate to share about it now too.

Entering a new year doesn’t mean that everything which wasn’t working last year will immediately start working this year.

At times our circumstances do not change immediately. This blog post is of course for people who want immediate changes but who aren’t experiencing them yet.

God is good, and at times He won’t calm our storms immediately. Walking with God also means learning to be patient as He is patient.

Many people in The Bible received promises from God for which they had to wait to see them come to pass. Many of those people are listed in the hall of fame of faith in Hebrews 11.

Hebrews 11:1‭-‬2‭, ‬8‭-‬12 NIV

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered Him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.

  • Abraham and Sarah waited for their promised child
  • Jacob waited while working in order to marry Rachel
  • The nation of Israel waited to be delivered from slavery in Egypt
  • The nation of Israel waited in order to enter the promised Land
  • David waited to become king of Israël
  • David waited to get back his place on his throne when his son Absalom tried to overthrow him
  • Hannah waited for a long time before having her first child (Samuel) with her husband (Elkanah)
  • Job waited for God to relieve his pain and suffering

Most of the people mentioned here waited not for a few days or months but for many years. They spent a good period of their lives waiting but eventually some time came when God changed their situation and turned things around for them.

While you are in a season of waiting, God is working.

That’s why I love the song Seasons, because it reminds me that God is at work while I am waiting and that someday God is going to turn this around in my favour. It may be today, it may be tomorrow, it may be next month, it may be this year or another year but I know that it won’t remain dark forever. The storm won’t last forever, the night won’t last forever.

My role is to wait with faith.

Luke 18:8 NIV

… when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Try to think of all the people whom Jesus Christ helped during His years of ministry here on Earth before going to The Cross and before His resurrection. He healed, delivered, forgave so many people.

Now think about it, a good number of those people probably waited for years in those situations, in those difficult seasons. Instead of saving them instantaneously, He sent a baby, a baby who would need to grow, to become a child, then an adolescent then an adult.

It’s when He became an adult that He was baptised and started his public ministry. God had some people waiting for 30 years for Jesus Christ to do something for them and change their lives. He could have done it instantaneously but He had them wait, and He waited, because He is patient.

Why did God create the earth and man in six days? Nothing is impossible for Him. He could have created everything in just one day, but He made it gradual, He made it to be a process, He made it to take some time.

Yes the New Year has come, and everything hasn’t changed instantaneously but I’m writing this to prophesy on you today with faith. It’s going to get better, God is going to do something about your situation, you’re going to get victory over your situation in Christ Jesus, God’s promises will come to pass in your life and the lives of your loved ones.

I can’t tell you when it will happen but I can tell you that it will happen in Jesus Christ’s Name. Just have faith while you’re waiting.

  • To the single who is waiting on God for marriage
  • To the engaged couple who’s waiting on God for their wedding
  • To the married couple who’s waiting on God for children
  • To the student who’s waiting on God for success in their exams
  • To the one who’s waiting on God for a job
  • To the one who’s waiting on God for a financial breakthrough
  • To the one who’s waiting on God for deliverance
  • To the one who’s waiting on God for healing
  • To the one who’s waiting in God for their marriage,or their life to be restored

I’m writing this to prophesy on you with faith in Christ Jesus, it will happen, God’s promises for you will certainly come to pass. While God is working on it, don’t stop waiting on Him.

Don’t let the devil steal your peace, your joy, your enthusiasm, your faith in God while you’re waiting, wait with faith.

Joshua 21:45 NIV

Not one of all the Lord ’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.

Just as He fulfilled all of His promises for Israel, He will fulfill all of His promises for you, and His promises for you are in The Bible and if you are in Christ they are YES and Amen.

2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Maybe 2019 will be a year of waiting for you, not in every aspect but in some aspects, but as you wait, wait with faith.

HABAKKUK 2:3 AMP

“For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay.

Prayer

Father Lord God Almighty, I thank You for teaching me patience. I thank You because You are good even in my season of waiting. Teach me patience Lord, such that while I am waiting, I won’t wait with bitterness, frustration or anger but with joy, peace and confidence in the fact that Your promises will come to pass, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
