Hello beloved child of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace.
If you’re a born-again child of God, if you’ve surrendered your life to Jesus Christ by receiving Him into your life as Lord and Saviour, then you’ve got to know that your case is completely different.
You are part of God’s family, which means that whatever is happening with the world and it’s systems, you are set apart, and your life is defined by Kingdom principles, not by principles of this world.
Deuteronomy 14:2 NLT
You have been set apart as holy to the Lord your God, and He has chosen you from all the nations of the earth to be His own special treasure.
This means that you don’t have to live in lack nor in fear, and that whatever happens around you, your situation is entitled to have a different outcome than that of others who are not children of God.
We’re going to look at a few examples.
1. Promotion is your portion
Genesis 41:39-43 NLT
Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are. You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours.” Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in fine linen clothing and hung a gold chain around his neck. Then he had Joseph ride in the chariot reserved for his second-in-command. And wherever Joseph went, the command was shouted, “Kneel down!” So Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all Egypt.
Joseph was sold by his brothers because they were jealous of him. He ended up as a slave in Potiphar’s house and because he refused to sleep with Potiphar’s wife, because he chose to obey God and not the world, he was accused wrongly by her and thrown into prison.
How many people in Egypt could boast of having been demoted from slave boy to prisoner and then promoted to Prime Minister in Egypt? I guess no one, apart from Joseph.
What was different in Joseph’s life compared to all other prisoners? What was so special about Joseph that it was just impossible that he would remain in prison and not be promoted?
Joseph belonged to God, Joseph walked with God, Joseph obeyed God.
When you’re a child of God, your starting point doesn’t really matter (slave, prisoner) because God is going to promote you anyway. All you’ve got to do is to know and believe that God is on your side and to keep walking with God.
2. Prosperity is your portion (even in times of drought)
Genesis 26:1, 12-14 NLT
A severe famine now struck the land, as had happened before in Abraham’s time. So Isaac moved to Gerar, where Abimelech, king of the Philistines, lived. When Isaac planted his crops that year, he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the Lord blessed him. He became a very rich man, and his wealth continued to grow. He acquired so many flocks of sheep and goats, herds of cattle, and servants that the Philistines became jealous of him.
In times of severe famine, Isaac prospered because God blessed him. It was so huge that the people near him were jealous of him.
What made Isaac so special? He belonged to God. He had a real relationship with God.
You see, us Christians nowadays usually fail to know who we are and Who we belong to. We get so scared by the news, so worried by economic crises, so worried when prices increase in the market, when times seem to get though. We worry with the world when seasons of drought or famine or economic crises come up.
These verses above should make it clear for us. As Christians, we don’t have to worry about that. You don’t have to worry about that, I don’t have to worry about that.
Our resources, our income, our finances do not depend on the principles of this world, but on kingdom principles. What belongs to God belongs to us because we are His children and He is Jehovah Jireh who provides for us, He will provide.
In fact, times of famine, drought, economic crises are even opportunities for Christians to prosper even more, because people will see how God has blessed us and how we are blessing others with that and sharing The Gospel of Christ and they will know that He is God.
Whatever is happening in your city, your country, your continent or in the world in general, remember that your case is completely different. You have God on your side.
3. Protection is your portion
When the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, they lived in the land of Goshen.
When God sent Moses to convince Pharaoh to let God’s people go, Pharaoh was rebellious. As such, God used plagues against Egypt to convince Pharaoh to let the people go. Guess who was set apart and not directly affected by most of the plagues? God’s people.
Exodus 9:23-26 NLT
So Moses lifted his staff toward the sky, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed toward the earth. The Lord sent a tremendous hailstorm against all the land of Egypt. Never in all the history of Egypt had there been a storm like that, with such devastating hail and continuous lightning. It left all of Egypt in ruins. The hail struck down everything in the open field—people, animals, and plants alike. Even the trees were destroyed. The only place without hail was the region of Goshen, where the people of Israel lived.
Exodus 10:21-23 NLT
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Lift your hand toward heaven, and the land of Egypt will be covered with a darkness so thick you can feel it.” So Moses lifted his hand to the sky, and a deep darkness covered the entire land of Egypt for three days. During all that time the people could not see each other, and no one moved. But there was light as usual where the people of Israel lived.
Exodus 12:21-23, 28-30 NLT
Then Moses called all the elders of Israel together and said to them, “Go, pick out a lamb or young goat for each of your families, and slaughter the Passover animal. Drain the blood into a basin. Then take a bundle of hyssop branches and dip it into the blood. Brush the hyssop across the top and sides of the doorframes of your houses. And no one may go out through the door until morning. For The Lord will pass through the land to strike down the Egyptians. But when He sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, the Lord will pass over your home. He will not permit his death angel to enter your house and strike you down. So the people of Israel did just as The Lord had commanded through Moses and Aaron. And that night at midnight, The Lord struck down all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on his throne, to the firstborn son of the prisoner in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed. Pharaoh and all his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. There was not a single house where someone had not died.
Do you get the point? Do you see the pattern?
The Israelites were safe because they belonged to God. The blood of the Passover lamb which was killed was a representation of the blood of Jesus Christ, who was killed for our sins. We are now hidden in His blood, protected and cleansed.
This means that we are hidden in Christ Jesus. Those who do not belong to Him may be affected by several plagues but if you are a Christian your life is hidden in Christ Jesus, you are covered by His blood and your case is completely different.
Colossians 3:3-4 NLT
For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all His glory.
Do you believe God’s Word?
Do you speak and live like you believe that you are set apart?
Do you pray with awareness that because you belong to God your case is completely different?
Perhaps you didn’t notice you experienced these in your life or perhaps you don’t experience it yet because you didn’t know or because you didn’t believe, but now you know, so it’s time to be settled and believe that The Bible says that truth, and time to change your perspective and to change the way you speak.
Learn to say everyday “I belong to Christ Jesus, as such my case is completely different because God is for me and not against me”
Nevertheless, perhaps you read all this and felt like “This would be great to be set apart and called to prosper, to be promoted and protected whatever the case. I would love to experience that”.
Perhaps you would like to experience this and you want to become a child of God and enjoy the benefits of belonging to Jesus Christ.
Here below is a prayer to surrender your life to Jesus Christ. If you say this prayer sincerely, and invite Him into your life, He will come and live in you and reign in you.
SALVATION PRAYER
Dear God in Heaven, I come to You in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need Your forgiveness.
I believe that Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin. I want to change Lord.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank You Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank You Jesus that your grace never leads to license to sin, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to You alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. AMEN
