Hello blessed child of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace.
As you probably already know, for every Christian the battle against sin is real. However, when Christ died on The Cross, our sinful nature was crucified too.
His death and the way our sinful nature was nailed at The Cross are worth remembering because they’ll give us strength and knowledge in our battle against sin.
Something so wonderful happened at The Cross. The song “Once And For All” by Lauren Daigle is a good one to think of how our sins were nailed at The Cross. I have always loved this song but it’s only today that God’s Holy Spirit opened my eyes and I finally realized the implications of this song.

Something wonderful happened at The Cross. I know we all struggle with sin, but what if it wasn’t what Jesus intended for us?
What if, when He have His life on that Cross it was to deal with sin once and for all? (and indeed it was).
Please sit down, shut down every distractions and read each line slowly, let it sink in your soul. There’s a miracle in these verses if you believe.
Romans 6:1‭-‬14 NLT

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of His wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined Him in His death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with Him in His death, we will also be raised to life as He was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and He will never die again. Death no longer has any power over Him. When He died, He died once to break the power of sin. But now that He lives, He lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.

Could realizing that Jesus Christ indeed defeated sin on the Cross on that faithful day, be the solution to our battle against sin?
Could believing that Jesus dealt with sin once and for all be the answer to our numerous push and pull episodes with sin?
What if today we took time to relive that moment on The Cross, and see our sinful nature crucified with Christ?
What if we realized that we are finally free, that sin has no power over us anymore?
What if we accepted today that when Jesus Christ was resurrected, it was to give us a new life ?
Colossians 2:20 NLT

You have died with Christ, and He has set you free from the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on following the rules of the world…

Galatians 2:20 NLT

My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The secret to see change in your life isn’t to memorize Bible verses to recite them off head, but to believe them.

Exercise

Today, close your physical eyes and see the Cross of Christ with your spiritual eyes.
See yourself dead on that Cross, dead to sin, dead to sinful desires, dead to the powers of this world.
Accept today that your old self, your sinful nature, has been crucified with Christ more than 2000 years ago, and as such, sin shall no more have dominion over you.
See it with your spiritual eyes, believe and begin to thank God and praise Him for this.

Prayer

Father Lord God Almighty, I lay down my whole self before The Cross of Jesus Christ today. All my sins, my sinful nature, my sinful desires, every dysfunction Lord, let it be crucified at Your Cross. I accept that all of these died at The Cross. May His blood cleanse me and make me pure. Help me receive this truth of resurrection and new life in Christ, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
