Hello beloved of The Lord, you’re blessed and highly favoured. We started this prayer and fasting program by talking about having a new life in Christ, during the upcoming week, we’ll talk about Intimacy with God.
Many people are surprised or envious when others tell them “The Lord spoke to me” and they wonder “how do you hear God?”. The truth is, if you want to hear from God, the best way to do so is to abide in His Word.
Many believers think it’s enough to read The Word of God once per day (in the morning or before going to bed) while The Bible tells us not just to read The Word but to meditate in it.
Meditating in The Word means keeping the Word that you read in the morning in your mind, reciting it with your mouth so that you listen to it again, ruminating it, chewing it, thinking about it all day long and declaring it over yourself. The more you meditate in The Word, the more you will know God and the more you will hear from Him.
Throughout this fast, make it a goal not just to read The Word but to meditate in it all throughout the day.
Prayer:
- Father, I want to know You more. Help me to not read The Word just as if it were an obligation but to meditate in it throughout the day so that I can hear Your voice clearly, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen
- Father, help me to control my thoughts, so that when my mind wanders it wanders not in the world but in Your Word, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen
Assignment :
- Today and each day write one Bible verse on which you’ll meditate throughout the day. Be intentional about meditating on that verse throughout the day
