Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

In order to grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, you need to be discipled. We see discipleship modeled through out the Bible. Jesus Christ was the disciple maker of the twelve Apostles. Paul was the disciple maker of Timothy. Even in the Old Testament, Moses was Joshua’s disciple maker and Elijah was the disciple maker of Elisha.
Many believers backslide because they refuse to submit to a disciple maker. Who is your disciple maker?
Additionally, every disciple should also have their own disciples. As Paul trained Timothy, he also expected him to train others. Are you investing in the lives of other believers so as to teach them what God taught you through His Word?
Throughout this fast, God wants you to understand the importance of having a real disciple maker who teaches The Word of God to you, who trains you and to whom you are accountable. God also wants you to invest in the lives of others and disciple them as you’re being discipled.
Prayer:
- Father, you know the areas in which I need training right now. Connect me with the right disciple maker, help me to submit to them, help them to train me according to my needs for the prosperity of my whole man, spirit, soul and body in The Name of Jesus Christ.
- Father Lord, train me to be a good disciplemaker. Give me the right words to teach and train those who look up to me as their disciplemaker, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
Assignment :
- Discuss with your disciple maker, tell them one area of your life in which you need their help/training/expertise and ask them to teach/train you in that area (eg financial management, how to maintain a prayer schedule, time management, how to maintain a Bible reading schedule)
- Make a list of three people to whom you will teach regularly (at least once per week) what God is teaching you in this season
