For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”

Hello beloved of The Lord, you’re blessed and highly favoured. As we’re entering the last days of our fast we’ll talk about finishing strong.
Here we are in the last week of this fasting and prayer season. If you’ve been doing the assignments and meditating on the Scriptures given, you’ve probably started seeing results. There are many people in the Bible who had great results in their lives and a good relationship with God, yet they fell away from God along the way. Some repented and returned to God while some others didn’t. Throughout this week, we’ll learn from the stories of those who fell so that you will not fall and you’ll finish strong.
Saul had been chosen by God to be king of Israel (1 Samuel 9-10) yet he disobeyed God’s instructions. Right before Saul’s battle against the Philistines, Saul does not wait for Samuel as he is instructed. Instead, Saul disobeyed and offered a sacrifice by himself (1 Samuel 13:9). Additionally, in Saul’s battle against the Amalakites, he also disobeyed another command from God (1 Samuel 15:9). When confronted by Samuel, instead of repenting he tried to justify his sin (1 Samuel 15:21).
Saul’s disobedience caused him to lose favour with God. The Lord said in I Samuel 15:11 NKJV “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.”
Saul’s disobedience made it in such a way that his descendants wouldn’t inherit the throne of Israel, and God would replace him with David.
God will not stop loving you, but your disobedience can cause you not just to lose favour with God, but also to lose strategic positions in destiny. If you want to finish strong, obey God has to be your top priority.
Prayer:
Father God, I pray that you forgive me because at times I took Your Commandments as suggestions and I did my will rather than Yours. Lord I surrender to Your Will, I choose to obey You Lord, in Jesus Christ’s Name
Assignment :
Reflect on a few things that God asked you to do but that you didn’t do. Make a list of those things and as much as possible, start doing them today
