‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:5‭-‬8‬ ‭KJV‬‬
[5] Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV

Hello beloved of The Lord, you’re blessed and highly favoured.

We see in these Scriptures that the humility of Jesus, according to the apostle Paul, is a feeling, a point of view, an attitude or a way of being.

A feeling of dependence and total vulnerability towards God. Deciding not to control anything ourselves, but to let God shape us.

A way of seeing ourselves and others. Not seeing ourselves as superior or equal to others, but seeing where and how others surpass us in order to improve ourselves.

A behaviour or attitude that reflects the state of our heart to see how others are better than us, and to keep our eyes fixed on the goal of learning, improving and doing God’s will.

Humility works like a ball, filled with air. The harder we try to push the ball into the water, the more powerfully it rises above the surface. The deeper the ball is pushed, the higher it will rise to heaven.

Pastor Mohammed Sanogo

The more a person’s heart depends on God and not on his or her own abilities, sees how others are better, and is willing to learn despite at times humiliations, the higher that person will
will rise.

Prayer:

  • LORD, give us a humble heart. A heart that feels as You do, sees as You do, and humbles itself as You do so as to reach the goal.
  • Father destroy in us every seed of pride and arrogance which limit us and hinder our elevation.
  • Lead us Lord to true leaders and teachers before whom we can humble ourselves in order to acquire even more excellent grace. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Assignment :

  • Whenever the Spirit of God asks you to humble yourself, look at the person and see where and how he or she is better than you. If you can’t find a point, look at the physical, mental or spiritual level, and honor that person’s grace. This will automatically develop the right feeling, attitude and point of view.
