Hello beloved of The Lord, you’re blessed and highly favoured.
According to the book “Health Promotion Through Forgiveness Intervention”, forgiveness is the abandonment of a negative response to an outrage in order to give rise to a positive response to the offender.
God’s forgiveness is a reflection of His unconditional love.
God so loved the world that He decided to cover Adam’s offence so that He could continue to be man’s friend, and so that man would not perish (John 3:16 paraphrased). To do this, He didn’t wait for man to repent. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us, He took away the sin of the world (John 1:29b This is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world).
If God loved us first, and forgave us when we didn’t deserve it, how much more so today when we have become his children. (Romans 5:8-10)
God’s forgiveness is based on His love, and if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Prayer:
- Heavenly Father please forgive my offenses, I recognize that I do not yet have the mind of Christ, I recognize that the world does not yet see the good works I must do, I recognize that from my mouth still come blessings and curses. I ask for Your forgiveness. Transform my heart of stone into a heart of flesh in Jesus’ name.
- I reject every feeling of guilt that the enemy inspires in me so that I would distance myself from you, for I know that You are faithful, just and loving, to forgive me.
Assignment :
Make a list of things for which you have been asking for forgiveness for a long time, but which you continue to do. Take the piece of paper and burn it, making a firm resolution not to go down those paths again, with God’s help.
