His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’ ‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. Matthew 25:23,29

Matthew 25:23‭, ‬29 NKJV

Hello beloved of The Lord, you’re blessed and highly favoured.

The parable of the talents teaches us a lot about God’s expectations towards us. He expects us to multiply what He’s put in our hands. Unfortunately, many Christians don’t aspire to anything bigger. We think that humility is being content with very little. As such, when God puts things in our hands, instead of multiplying it, we bury it.

Look at the man who got one talent and got contented with just that. He didn’t aspire to anything bigger, he didn’t multiply it. The Lord called him wicked and lazy (Matthew 25:26 NKJV). On the other hand, the one who got five talents and aspired to something bigger multiplied it and brought back five other talents. The Lord said he was a good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21 NKJV). The one with two talents brought two others. They each doubled what they had.

Being faithful in little things means multiplying them, getting at least a double portion. That’s not being greedy or proud, that’s just being a good and faithful steward. Aspire to something bigger, go back to school if necessary, expand, reinvest, multiply.

“We don’t maintain, we multiply”

Pastor Steven Furtick

Prayer:

Father, I pray that you forgive me because I was thinking small and not aspiring to something bigger. Lord, I choose to become someone who multiplies what You put in my hands. I refuse to be afraid, I refuse to underestimate what You can do through me. I choose to step out and to multiply what You’ve put in my hands in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen

Assignment :

  • Make a list of things God put in your hands that you’ve been maintaining instead of multiplying (eg a business, goods to be sold, an idea, a diploma, a skill)
  • Ask The Holy Spirit to inspire you on something you can do to multiply (eg registering the business, selling the goods you’ve been keeping, going back to school to further your studies, using that skill to make money)
  • Act on what The Holy Spirit told you to do
