Hello beloved of God, you are blessed and highly favoured.
Throughout this year, a few people (new converts especially) asked me about a fasting and prayer program but I didn’t really know when to start it till one of my mothers in Church Mama Pastor Joëlle Ngassam told me and my husband that we had been chosen by God’s grace to help with the yearly end of year 40 days fasting and prayer program for the Church. What a grace and privilege. We’re grateful to God, our Bishop and our Pastors for this.
As my husband and myself were working on this program, The Lord put so much on my heart to share some parts of it with my audience on my blog. So I’ll share some of it with you guys here. Instructions : As you go through this program, we invite you to have a small journal in which you’ll write daily what God told you and in which you’ll write down your assignments.
Throughout the first week of this fasting and prayer program we’ll talk about the new life in Christ Jesus.
Welcome to Day one : Being Born again
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
John 3:5 NKJV
What does it really mean to be born again?
If you identify as a Christian, you’ve probably said the famous salvation prayer at least once in your life whereby you invited Jesus Christ to come into your life and be your personal Lord and Saviour. Unfortunately, many people months or years after saying that prayer have a lifestyle which is contrary to The Word of God. They still lie, steal, curse, go to witchdoctors and live in sexual immorality just like unbelievers. Many of us want Jesus Christ as Saviour so that we won’t go to hell, but we don’t want Him as Lord so as to obey Him. We don’t want Him to decide in our lives.
In reality, the decision to follow/obey Jesus Christ isn’t just a one day decision, but it’s an everyday decision. As we’re starting this season of fasting and prayer, you must choose to surrender your life to Jesus Christ every single day not just as Saviour but as Lord, your Boss, the One who decides.Look into your life, analyse the areas in which you’re not bearing the fruits of righteousness, areas of rebellion and repent.
Prayer points :
- Father in The Name of Jesus Christ I acknowledge that there have been areas of my life in which I didn’t behave as a child of God.
- Father help me to repent not just in words but to change sincerely in Jesus Christ’s Name
- Father I believe that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of The Living God. I believe that He died for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. I surrender to Him, I acknowledge Him as Lord over my life. Thanks to Him I have eternal life, I am born again.
- Father in The Name of Jesus Christ, I pray for a real change in my life. Let there be a real difference between me and unbelievers.
