Ephesians 5:11 NIVHave nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

Hello beloved one of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace and having an awesome week in The Lord.
Today I’m going to talk about a quite sensitive topic and I hope you will read with love and patience, and that God will challenge your heart on this.
So, I’ll start with a little story.
I’m in, let’s say a “chat room” somewhere on the internet, and someone makes a coming out. This person says something like:
“I’m gay, I don’t know why God made me this way, and it is so hard for me to come out as gay (homosexual) in my country”
That chat room was supposed to be, a Christian chatroom. There were not only Christians in the chat room but the majority of people in that chat room were there to seek God and know His Will through His Word.
Here are the replies that I read:

  • “God loves you just the way you are”
  • “God knows why He made you this way ”
  • “Persevere through this situation God will make you come out victorious”

I really read through the comments and not one of them was clear on God’s stance on Homosexuality. None of the comments actually even told this person that God didn’t make them gay or that Homosexuality is sin from which Jesus can save them.
This person was deeply rooted in the lies of the devil and believed that God created them gay, while that is false, that’s a lie. A lie which the devil inserted in their hearts.
It was the moment to tell this person that God loves them and that God didn’t make them gay. But they didn’t do it.
God made me write to let him know that God didn’t make him gay and that’s a lie of the devil.
Unfortunately I didn’t have any possibility to contact this person after the chat, it wasn’t easy to get in contact with them after wards. I gave them some personal information for them to get back to me, but for the moment I’m still waiting.
Anyhow, I think you get where I’m heading to.
Too many of us Christians are trying to be Politically correct.
We so much want to be approved of by others, we don’t want to offend anyone.
In our quest not to offend anyone, we usually make sure that we omit the truth of God’s Word, so that we won’t offend the other person. (Obviously because God’s Word offends people)
Unfortunately, the truth of God’s Word which we omit is usually the answer which will set the person free from the lies of the devil.
John 8:32 NIV

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Ephesians 5:11 NIV

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

2 Corinthians 10:3‭-‬5 NIV

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Let me share a few Bible verses on the importance of sharing the truth of God’s Word.

1. The Word of God Breaks Strongholds

Hebrews 4:12 NIV

For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Strongholds are incorrect thinking patterns.
They blur us into believing things which are contrary to God’s Word. The devil uses strongholds to keep us in bondage.
For example, this person who said “I don’t know why God made me homosexual” is actually saying out loud a stronghold which the devil put in their heart.
It is not the truth, and this person needs someone to pray for them of course, but also to show them Bible verses which will tell them that God didn’t create them that way and that Homosexuality isn’t God’s Will for His children.
If we close our mouths and decide not to say anything because we want to appear politically correct, we miss a God-given opportunity to set someone free.

2. Someone May Never Tell Them

Romans 10:13‭-‬15‭, ‬17 NIV

for, “Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in The One of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ.

I’m not trying to say that you should go around the world pin-pointing people’s faults left and right.
However, when God gives you an opportunity to talk about His Word, instead of painting Him as the “politically correct God”, paint Him just as He is, God is love and He is righteousness at the same time.
There are fake preachers out there who are okay with people calling evil good and good evil, so long as they have attendance and so long as they are politically correct.
Isaiah 5:20 NIV

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.

You don’t have to be this way. You may be the only one through which someone will hear about God, if you don’t say the truth this person may continue in sin without knowing about the love of Christ who died to save them from their sins.

3. The Word of God Is The Standard

1 John 1:8‭-‬10 NIV

If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His Word is not in us.

When it comes to discerning good from evil, the standard is not how people feel, or what people will say, or what political correctness demands from you. The standard is The Word of God, the Bible.
The aim is not to frighten people but to let them know that their choices have eternal consequences and that in Christ Jesus all their sins can be forgiven.
How can someone accept God’s forgiveness of sins if the person doesn’t first of all admit that they have sinned?
How will they know that they have sinned if they don’t have God’s Word tell them?
When we evangelise we make sure we talk about sin and God’s grace.
We can’t just talk about sin and not give a remedy (Jesus Christ’s death on the Cross). In the same way we can’t just talk about God’s grace and never talk about sin.
God’s grace is available for the forgiveness of sins which means that to have access to God’s grace we first have to acknowledge that we have sinned.

4. Deception is Rampant

2 Corinthians 7:8‭-‬10 NIV

Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

Christians who don’t want to call sin sin because they don’t want to offend others are actually practising deception.
You clearly see that someone is going to hell, and about to drown in hell, you hug the person with love and then you let this person continue to drown in hell.
You feel proud of yourself after that, like you did something good for the person. Yes you made this person feel happy for a few seconds but you are helping this person to feel sad in hell for eternity.
We have to be ready to speak against sin. It’s true it is painful.
When someone confronts me of a sin I committed, I feel hurt, I feel bad, I feel sad, and I feel ashamed.
Nevertheless this is a short term shame, sadness, pain, embarrassment, because its aim is to bring me to confession and repentance.
Once I have confessed my sin to God, I receive His forgiveness and His joy. I am now free.
It’s better to offend someone for 5 minutes and have this person restored in God’s grace, than to do everything not to offend them but to let them spend eternity in hell.

Conclusion

Political correctness has caused so much to Christians. While we remain silent because we don’t want to hurt anyone, the devil is not remaining silent.
The devil is invading the world of entertainment and our schools with pornography, sexual immorality, drugs, homosexuality and evil practices. In the aim of not “hurting” anyone with the truth of God’s Word, we’ve remained silent for too long, and now these evil things are gaining more and more ground.
It’s time to stand up against these things, not just in prayer but also through our speech.
Jesus didn’t just pray, He also went out and changed people’s lives. He wasn’t afraid to be “harsh” when He spoke to the “religious” leaders at that time.
It’s time for us to throw political correctness in the dust bin and to start quoting Bible verses. Spread The Word of God just as it is written in The Bible, don’t try to make it “softer”.
Just spread The Word and let The Holy Spirit touch hearts.
Do you remember the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 ? Do you think any of those seeds would have grown in good soil if he hadn’t sown?
You first have to sow. Spread The Word of God as it is, don’t try to water it down. Some will fall in good ground, others not, but at least you would have done what was to be done. Spread The Word of God.
Matthew 13:18‭-‬23 NIV

“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

Prayer

Father Lord God King of Glory, fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I may make use of every opportunity You grant to me to share the truth of Your Word, to spread Your Word as it is, without trying to be politically correct, but just focusing on saying God’s Word as it is. Touch the hearts of the people with whom I share Your Word, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.

It’s Now Your Turn
