Hello blessed child of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace.
Christian music is so appeasing, and also full of wonderful lessons for every Christian. One of my favourite songs these days is “So Will I” by Hillsong United.

I love this song because it more or less looks like a promise. In fact it is a promise to God, to obey Him, to praise Him, to worship Him, to love His children, to live a life of service.
The general idea behind the song is this: Creation still obeys God. It respects the boundaries which God gave it, and it keeps doing what God created it for; giving glory to His Name.
If creation is able to follow with the rythm which God gave to it ever since He created it, we should strive too to follow Him as He planned for us to do.
This song is inspired from Psalm 148. I definitely love this Psalm.
Psalms 148:1‭-‬14 NLT

Praise The Lord ! Praise the Lord from the heavens! Praise Him from the skies! Praise Him, all His angels! Praise Him, all the armies of heaven! Praise Him, sun and moon! Praise Him, all you twinkling stars! Praise Him, skies above! Praise Him, vapors high above the clouds! Let every created thing give praise to the Lord , for He issued His command, and they came into being. He set them in place forever and ever. His decree will never be revoked. Praise The Lord from the earth, you creatures of the ocean depths, fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey Him, mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all livestock, small scurrying animals and birds, kings of the earth and all people, rulers and judges of the earth, young men and young women, old men and children. Let them all praise The Name of the Lord . For His Name is very great; His glory towers over the earth and heaven! He has made His people strong, honoring His faithful ones— the people of Israel who are close to him. Praise The Lord

We were created to give glory to God. It’s our mission, it’s our calling, it’s our life.
This song gives us a specific order to praise God. The song “So Will I” is a response to this call to praise God, it’s a “yes, I will praise You Lord”.
Praising God and worshipping Him starts with a decision. It’s a decision, an engagement we take before God, that irrespective of the circumstances of life, we will praise Him:

  • Even if we’re stressed up at work/in school/at home
  • Even if we’re very very busy at work
  • Even if everything is a mess in our lives
  • Even if we’re sick
  • Even if we’re desperate
  • Even when we don’t see the need to
  • Even when we’re tired etc etc..

To reach such a level of obedience, it all starts with a firm decision to praise God as He has commanded us to.

Exercise

Listen to “So Will I” by Hillsong United, and sing along, as you make the decision to respond to God’s calling on your life, for you to provide Him and give glory to Him.

Prayer

Father Lord God Almighty, thank You so much for the privilege to be called to praise Your Holy Name. I decide today to submit myself to Your Will such that no matter what I am going through, that I’ll worship You with The Help of Your Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
