Hello blessed child of God, I hope you’re fine by His grace.
Before proceeding, I would like to congratulate all of you who followed all through Lent and the Holy Week, up to Easter. By God’s grace we’ve consistently had a new blogpost online everyday.
This year, I had the privilege to comment on wonderful Christian songs which are meant to accompany us during praise, worship, adoration, and every other moment in life. I had never done that previously, it was something new and really special.
I don’t know if that’ll be repeated someday, from time to time, or next year God-willing since I haven’t received clear instructions from God about this for the moment.
Anyway, today, I just want to announce that today’s post is the last post of our Lent to Easter 2018 series, and there’ll be no post tomorrow. We’re going back to our usual program of one blogpost every week God-willing either on Wednesdays or Saturdays.
Ok, today is really special because it’s Easter.
The perfect song to me to celebrate Easter is “Resurrecting” by Elevation Worship.
Mark 16:1-6 NLT
Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on Sunday morning, just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside. When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid His body.
What a blessed way to end this whole series. The Good News of Jesus’ resurrection which opens the way for so much more for us.
Thanks to Jesus Christ’s death we were freed from sin, and thanks to His resurrection we get to live our lives in Him, and through His victory over death, we too we have victory over death.
Romans 6:4-8, 10-12 NLT
For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires.
1 Corinthians 15:54-57 NLT
Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled: “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting? ” For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Today is a day of resurrection for you. The news of Jesus’ resurrection is a news of new beginning, of future and hope for you in Him.
Now, everything is different. No matter the sins you commited in the past, no matter how many dreams died along the way, no matter what you did or said or didn’t say or didn’t do, today you have the opportunity to start afresh in your race with God, knowing that all what Jesus did for you, when He died and when He resurrected was for you to live freely in Him, to live life to the fullest.
Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.
2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Go forth and live freely in Him. Leave behind your past, your shame, your failures, leave it all in the grave of Jesus, and run the race with all of your strength and all of your faith. The past is past and the new has come. Today is resurrection for you too.
- Resurrection for your dreams
- Resurrection for your faith
- Resurrection for your purity
- Resurrection for your zeal
- Resurrection for your joy
- Resurrection for all that had died in you.
It looked like it was over, but it’s not. Christ died and was resurrected by God so that we may have victory and reign in life in Him.
You are not under sin’s dominion anymore, you are free to live in obedience to God.
Exercise
Today turn to God and thank Him for His resurrection power at work in you. Choose to turn away from and forget your past sins, your past hurt, your past mindset and to focus on running your race in Christ Jesus.
Prayer
Father Lord God Almighty, thank You so much because just like You rose Jesus from the dead, You are able to redeem me from my past sins and failures and raise me up to a new life in Christ Jesus. Help me leave my past behind and run the race, fresh, new and risen from defeat to victory. I surrender my entire life to You Lord, breathe Your life in me, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
