RIGHTEOUSNESS

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Today’s post is about righteousness.
I think it’s a right conclusion to the previous posts on cleanliness, godliness and holiness.
Let’s look at what The Bible says about righteousness.
1. We ought to pursue righteousness

Matthew 5:6 KJV
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

When we focus on serving God first, on living according to His righteousness, on obeying Him, not only does He help us remain in His ways, He also blesses us far beyond what we could expect or imagine.
2. We are righteous in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Jesus Christ is perfect, He is The Only begotten Son of God and He is righteous. For all those who accepted Christ Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour, He looks not at our flaws and faults today but clothes us with His own righteousness.
3. The righteous cannot sin

1 John 3:7, 9 KJV
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. [9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Clearly, the verse 9 is a freedom message to every Christian who struggles with sin. Once you accept this truth, believe it, praise God and confess it, by faith you live by it.
God’S plan isn’t for you to fall into sin again, He has redeemed you and if at every time you let The Holy Spirit direct you, you shall walk by the Holy Spirit and not by the flesh and you shall not sin because God’S nature dwells in you.
Nevertheless if ever you sin, remember this:

1 John 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Thank You Father because righteousness is a gift from You, please lead me in Your righteousness, in Jesus Christ’S Name. Amen.
