Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Today’s post is about joy.
Some weeks ago, I went through a series of events which left me brokenhearted, hurt and extremely sad. Everyone in life has moments like that, feeling sad and hurt is human.
Nevertheless, I’ll be honest, at that period my greatest fear was to rejoice again, to be ultra jovial again. It sounds crazy right ? I was convinced that if I remained in a state of sadness I won’t be happy anymore and fall again in deep sadness when a new unexpected event would pops up against my will.
To be sincere, I was totally wrong.
My fear was to experience a temporary joy and then end up sad again. I was wrong because I put my joy in what would happen, in people, circumstances, achievements, emotions.
Everything changes, people change or act in many different ways, circumstances are totally controlled only by God, a new achievement will imply greater responsibility for the next achievement.
In case we look at every single event in our lives for a reason to be happy or unhappy, we’ll definitely feel crazy. Nothing is constant except God’S love, and He wants us to put our joy in sure things, constant infallible truths, in His Word in His love. Here we go:
Luke 10:20 KJV
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
John 15:11 KJV
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
Next time you are dealing with sadness/depression/hurt/emotional pain, do these things:
Think of the fact that in Christ Jesus you have eternal life, and smile.
Remember that God loves you eternally and smile.
Rejoice that if you believe in Christ Jesus your name is written in Heaven, and smile.
Remember that Jesus Christ gave His life for you and all your sins are forgiven, smile.
Think of the fact that God is your best friend who will never let you down, smile.
Remember all of His promises in His Word towards you and smile, laugh, delight, rejoice.
These things won’t change, His love for you won’t change.
If you feed your joy based on the shallow things of this world you shall never be satisfied, your joy will be interrupted and you will feel disappointed always because none of those things are constant, but if your joy is a house you built on Jesus Christ, on His love, His Word and His promises, no matter the winds, storms, trials, and reasons to be sad, your joy will still be there, holding fast.
Even in the midst of sadness, you can live in joy, in Christ Jesus.
Choose today that Jesus Christ’S love will be the fuel for your joy.
Prayer:
Eternal Lord I want to rejoice evermore and delight in You, help me build my joy in You, in Christ Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen
