Today’s post is about lies telling. For the purpose of this post, we will go step by step to make sure we grasp it all with God’S Help.
1. What is a lie?
A LIE is something you say or write knowing that it is not true (Oxford Advanced Learner’s dictionary)
2. What is a “white lie” ?
A white lie is a ” harmless ” or ” small lie “, especially one that you tell to avoid hurting somebody.
3. Is there really such a thing as a” white lie”? Can lying be acceptable or tolerated sometimes? Is it fine if I lie?
No, No, No.
4. How am I sure that there is no such thing as a “white lie” in God’S sight?
Revelation 21:8 KJV
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation 22:14-15 KJV
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. [15] For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
John 8:44 KJV
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
God is against lying. There’s nothing as an innocent harmless lie, a lie is a lie and it has consequences. Even if it doesn’t directly hurt your neighborhood in your sight, it may hurt him/her sooner or later, and it harms you by affecting your relationship with God your Father.
It’s surely not easy to “always say the truth” if you have already made up your mind that “it’s OK to lie”, but today God is showing us that we shouldn’t lie. We shouldn’t love lies and live by them. We shouldn’t accept to live by the world’s standards which say that lying is OK.
If ever we lie we can confess our sins and ask God for forgiveness, but we ought not to choose to dwell in lies, of not we accept that nature and deserve the title of liars.
Rather than lying we can just keep our mouths shot, or ask The Holy Spirit to help us find words.
Jesus Christ is the way, the TRUTH, and the life. We have God’S nature in us, we cannot lie if we walk by His Holy Spirit.
This is surely gonna be a brave (and difficult) decision, but challenge yourselves, and make a personal decision today between you and God never to lie again, and ask for God’S Help.
May you experience the miracle of Him transforming your mouth, that you may only say the truth, may we all experience it, in Jesus Christ’S Name.
