Hello everyone, I hope you’re all fine by God’s grace. Lately, we’ve listed 5 types of friends, and today we’ll start to discuss about how to deal with them. 
The 5 types of friends listed yesterday were

  1. The life of the party
  2. Mr. /Mrs. Perfect  
  3. The melancholic friend
  4. The susceptible/choleric friend 
  5. The people pleaser

    Today we’ll talk about how to deal with a friend who’s the life of the party. 
    When your friend is the life of the party,  he/she is always jovial, always having fun, always enjoying his/herself etc etc. Actually, you hardly ever see them cry.
    The greatest advantage you get from someone who’s always cheerful is that  even in your darkest moments, they’re around to make you laugh and forget about your problems, and they always have positive statements which are highly encouraging. They’re generally able to empathize with all that you feel and even to share with you some of their cheerful mood. They are heartwarming and a great blessing to you. 
    Nevertheless, you may often feel “slightly annoyed” when facing the fact that they never see life as you do, and never really “understand” why you take so long to move on to something else every time anything negative happens. 
    Though they try to cheer you up, they may never really understand that you are different from them and it may take longer for you to get your cheerful mood back when something sad happens, compared to them who appear almost unaffected. 
    How then should you deal with a life of the party friend? 
    1. Embrace the fact that they are a blessing to you 

    A friend who’s always in a good mood is a blessing to you, because they cheer you up with positive when you are sad. 
    2. Enjoy their company 
    Proverbs 14:10 NIV

    Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy. 

    Every moment you share with them use it to feel jovial and lively. Learn from them as their cheerful mood irradiated to you. If you find a friend who can speak to your heart when you are sad, and make you feel jovial again, then enjoy their company and enjoy every conversation you have with them. 
    3. Try your best to let them know how you feel 
    1 Corinthians 13:7 NIV

    Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

    When you feel sad, tell them. When you feel misunderstood, tell them. When you feel happy, tell them. They’ll be ready to share all those with you. Even if they can’t understand you perfectly, they’ll express how much they love you. 
    4. Forgive them when they can’t understand you
    Ephesians 4:2 NIV

    Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

    Don’t hold it against them if they just can’t be angry/sad for a long time (as you may happen to be). Don’t hold it against them if they never understand how hurt you are and how come you can keep something in your heart for so long. Forgive them, keeping in mind that of they don’t show as much empathy as you need, it’s not because they don’t want to, but just because they are so different from you that it’s not easy for them to understand you in your own way. 
    5. Stop expecting “their turn” to come 
    Philippians 4:8 NIV

    Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

    I plead guilty (Lord have mercy on me). 
     Not that I expect anything sad to happen to my friends who are always in a joyful mood. However, when they say things like “I would never feel this sad if I were in your place”, it makes me feel like “When you’ll be in my place, I’ll see how you’ll react”.  This isn’t cool.
     I know it’s not easy, but no matter what they say to us, we should never wish that they have a sad day as we may have had, just because we want to see whether they’ll really put in practice all their “positive talk” they tell us about when we face sad moments. 
    Just wish them the best, and pray that God should bless them, every single time a negative thought crosses your mind about them. 
    Prayer 
    Father God Almighty, thank You for teaching me that everyone is different. Help me accept my friends as they are and benefit of the strengths of their characters. Also, help me wish the best to my friends, and mostly to my cheerful friends, that they may always be in a good mood in order to spread that joy all around them. In Jesus Christ’s Name I pray. Amen
