Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Today’s post is about honour to parents.
To make the post easier let’s say your parent isn’t only the person who gave birth to you, but also the person who raised you up, who saw you grow and under whose responsibility you are.
I posted an amateur video on YouTube with this little song which is very instructive. Here’s a link to the video.
The lyrics go thus :
Children obey your parents in The Lord(x3)
For this is right in His eyes/sight
Honour your father and mother
The first commandment with a promise
That it may go well with you upon this world of sin
Children obey your parents in The Lord for this is right in His eyes/sight

These lyrics come from the following Bible verse.

Deuteronomy 5:16 KJV
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

God knows it isn’t easy. We usually want to try our own ideas and philosophies, we want to make things work our own way. But God put our parents in our lives to go through certain circumstances before us and to have a certain wisdom ahead of us. A wisdom with which they guide us in our decisions, our choices, even if it’s hard, let’s listen to them and honour their advice.
We are never too old for our parents to tell us what they think about our behavior, relationships, emotional lives, jobs and so on. We are never too wise.
So long as what your parent tells you is in conformity with God’S Word listen and obey, even if you aren’t ok now, you may understand later as well as you may not, but never neglect their advice, it usually prevents many heart and mind aches.
Prayer
Father humble my heart that I may listen to, honour and obey my parents in The Lord, in Jesus Christ’S Name I pray.
Amen
