HOLINESS

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Today we are going to talk about holiness.
First of all, I would like us all to take a deep breath before reading this, the post isn’t about judging anybody or earning any holiness by our own selves or by our own works, this post isn’t either to praise anyone.

Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

This post is about God’S plan for His redeemed and chosen ones, us.

1 Peter 1:13-16 KJV
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; [14] As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: [15] But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; [16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

God wants His people to be holy because He is holy.
It’s worth noting here that, by no means can we achieve holiness by our own human efforts.

Isaiah 64:6 KJV
But we are all as an unclean thing , and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

If we could make ourselves holy just by our attitudes then we wouldn’t have been in need of a Saviour. Jesus Christ didn’t come for the perfect and already righteous ones, He came for the sick to redeem them.
Once we’ve accepted that truth, we can surrender to God day after day and by His Holy Spirit He shall fashion us in conformity with His plan and He shall also separate us from evil, and make us an holy people. Let’s just humbly listen to His Word, trust and obey and we shall see Him operate in us and align our lives to His Will.
Unfortunately, we are at times so judgemental and critical of others, self-righteous, and so sure that we do everything the right way and that we “deserve” (by our own efforts) to be holy and this is how we begin thinking in our hearts

God wants us to be humble, to rely on Him for holiness and not to judge or feel better than others. God wants us to be obedient to Him, to love Him, to serve Him, to set ourselves apart for Him, to love one another. Let’s ask for His help to do His Will.
Prayer
Father God, we can’t be holy without You, for You are Holy and You are the Only one who can make us be like you. Help us O Lord, in Jesus Christ’S Name.
