Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Sorry for the period of absence, I had some health issues but by God’S grace I am back, healthy and fine.
Today’s post is about happiness.
Have you ever heard the sentence “happiness is a choice”?
I would add to it that “happiness is a divine calling”.
Let’s look at Jesus’ words
Matthew 5:3-12 KJV

“Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor;
the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!
“Happy are those who mourn;
God will comfort them!
“Happy are those who are humble;
they will receive what God has promised!
“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires;
God will satisfy them fully!
“Happy are those who are merciful to others;
God will be merciful to them!
“Happy are the pure in heart;
they will see God!
“Happy are those who work for peace;
God will call them his children!
“Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires;
the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!
“Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers.
Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven. This is how the prophets who lived before you were persecuted

If you clearly look at these words above, those of us on earth who are poor in spirit, who mourn, who are really meek, who hunger and thirst for righteousness, who are merciful, pure in heart, peacemakers, who are persecuted for Christ, if we just look at the standards of the world, we are the most unhappy people on earth.
We are honest hence people desire to cheat on us. We want peace while others yearn for war. We seek God but those who denigh Him insult us, persecute us, try their best to seduce us into sin. We thirst for righteousness in an unfair world, we are usually victims if unfair treatments especially because people used the fact that we wanted to love our neighbors as ourselves for God’S sake, people used that against us. We are pure in heart yet we meet people who want to derail us and who discourage us. In this world, us who really seek God are persecuted in one way or the other. If we were to keep our eyes just on that, then most Christians should be sad, depressed ,frustrated and stressed up because of this world,but this is exactly what Jesus Christ does not want.
He knows our struggles and battle in the world and all the reasons which may push us to be unhappy. Despite that, He orders us to be happy Be happy and glad, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven.”Matthew5:12
He doesn’t give it as an option but as an order, God wants us to choose happiness, despite what happens.
Let’s make it clear, our joy should not be based on people’s attitudes towards us, on our abilities, on the world around us, nor our circumstances, we should be happy in all and despite all, it is a choice and a calling, not an option for a Christian you have to be happy.
Look at all the love that God has for you and smile.
Look at the fact that Christ Jesus carried your own sins and now you are forgiven, and smile.
Look at the fact that you have access to the Father in His Name and smile.
Look at the fact that Jesus Christ has prepared a place in Heaven for you and smile.
Look at the fact that you believe in Christ Jesus, hence you have eternal life, and smile.
Look at the fact that God promised a reward for you in Heaven and smile .
Look in His Word for all the promises you have amongst which life in abundance and smile.
God wants to be your source of happiness, He calls you to be happy, despite the hardships, just look at Him and marvel in joy.
Prayer
Eternal Lord help me choose to be happy everyday because You love me and want me happy, help me remember that You are my joy, in Jesus Christ’S Name I pray, Amen
