FRUITFULNESS

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Today’s post is about fruitfulness.
As Christians, we are expected to bear fruits for The Lord. From our lives it should be visible that we love Jesus Christ and that His Holy Spirit operates in us. We can say that this is bearing fruits for The Lord.

John 15:8 KJV
Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Inspite of our great desire and goodwill to serve The Lord, to be “perfect” and to be a living testimony of Christ Jesus’ death and resurrection, we usually ask ourselves these questions.
“Why do I still sin?”
“How could I make such a huge mistake? ”
” How come I still can’t make it to be perfect? ”
There are so many frustrating questions we ask ourselves during our Christian life and mostly in this period of lent where we are compelled to reflect on our sins and our past mistakes in the intent of examination of conscience and amelioration in our Christian lives.
In fact, it is very easy to be discouraged by the feeling and impression that no matter how hard we try not to sin, we still sin. In fact at times the harder we try the more we sin. Ask yourself why??
Here’s the answer.

John 15:4-7 KJV
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. [5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. [6] If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. [7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Jesus Christ lives in us by God’S Holy Spirit, when we abide in Him and rely on Him and look unto Him, we won’t sin, because we are led by His Holy Spirit.
While, if we rely on our own selves, on making it on our own, on using our brains, strength, efforts and willpower not to sin against God then we shall clearly sin, because our flesh is weak and we have the fallen nature in us.
Conclusion : we were saved not by our efforts but by grace, so we will live truly godly and Christian lives not by our efforts either but by grace, by abiding in Christ.
Without Him I can do nothing, but I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.(Phil4:13)
Prayer.
Eternal Lord help me rely on You and abide in You daily, in Jesus Christ’S Name, Amen.
