Hello blessed child of God, I hope you’re fine by His grace.
As we’re preparing for Easter, it’s so important that we know what it represents for us. We should be aware of what Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection changed for us.
The Cross has changed our state from sinful and condemned to “the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus”.
I think you’ll love this song “Flawless” by Mercyme.
We’ve all done or said or seen things we’re ashamed of, even if we don’t share it with others. We’ve all made mistakes, we’ve all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory.
Romans 3:23 NLT
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
When we think about our past sins, it’s easy to feel like “Will God answer my prayers, despite the sins I have committed?”. We may feel unworthy mostly when we compare ourselves with others who sinned differently than us.
For example, you may have been a thief in your past and now you feel unworthy because none of your friends ever stole anything. But when you’re comparing yourself with them, you don’t know which sins they have committed, but you declare yourself unworthy because they didn’t commit the same sins as you.
It’s so easy to define our worth and peace of mind based on what we did, or what others didn’t do. It’s also really easy for us to conclude that because of our sins we don’t have the same position as other Christians before God, or to feel like our salvation isn’t as complete anymore.
It’s also so easy for people to judge us and hate us for our past sins, and to keep defining us based on that. Till date, Thomas is defined as “doubting Thomas” for a few minutes of doubt. In the same way people may define you all your life based on your sins. There’s a trap in us believing what they say and accepting that we aren’t worth it anymore because others define us based on our past sins.
The Cross changed it all for us. It is so important to know that no matter what others say, what they did or didn’t do, when you accepted Jesus Christ in your life as your personal Lord and Saviour, He cleansed you and made you to become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:24-26 NLT
Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus.
If you’ve confessed your sins to God, He has already forgiven you, and cleansed you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). He’s not going to think of those sins again. He has chosen to forget them. Who are you to recall them to your mind and to define yourself by them if God already said “FORGIVEN & FORGOTTEN”?
Jeremiah 31:34b MSG
“I’ll wipe the slate clean for each of them. I’ll forget they ever sinned!” God ’s Decree.
You don’t have to feel inferior anymore. You can go before God confidently and ask for whatever you need in His Name. He won’t reject you because of your past sins, He has already forgiven you.
People will keep defining you based on your past sins, but it’s your responsibility to define yourself based on what God says about you.
Colossians 1:21-22 NLT
This includes you who were once far away from God. You were His enemies, separated from Him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now He has reconciled you to Himself through the death of Christ in His physical body. As a result, He has brought you into His own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before Him without a single fault.

Thank God today for having cleansed you from your sins and for having made you to become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus
Prayer
Father Lord God Almighty, thank You so much for the death of Jesus Christ on The Cross, for His blood which cleanses me from my sins, and for Your righteousness which You offered to me as a gift. Thank You Lord in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
