Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’s grace and that you enjoyed your holidays. Thanks to Him, I did enjoy my holidays and I am back on mission for Jesus.
It’s a pleasure to share today’s post with you guys, today we’ll be talking about encouragement.
First of all,  let’s look at some verses about encouragement. I searched in my Bible for the Word “encourage”  and for other words linked to that and some verses caught my attention.
God willing, we are going to look at three levels of encouragement through this series on encouragement :
1. Encouragement (directly) from God:
1 Chronicles 22:13 KJV

Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

2. Encouragement to others/encouragement from others :
 Deuteronomy 1:38 KJV

But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

3. Self encouragement :
1 Samuel 30:6 KJV

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

Everyone’s life needs encouragement, a Christian’s life needs encouragement. Many things can happen in our everyday lives which either encourage us or discourage us, but we need to know that we need encouragement.
Most often, although the day, we are filled with negative inputs, from the media, from the Internet in general, from the “system” , from family members, friends, teachers, fiancés, husbands, wives,  children etc….
At times that’s unintentional, but because of our different susceptibilities, discouragement and negative inputs may even come from those we love the most (and who love us the most)  even if they may not notice it.
As a result, we need encouragement. We need encouragement to go through the day, we need encouragement to go through life. We need encouragement when we take important decisions which will possibly influence the rest of our lives (choice of academic career, choice of a spouse, choice of church orientation etc etc etc).
In the midst of everything which happens around us, we may feel like giving up. In fact at times we do feel crazy “why do I keep hoping for this?” “why doesn’t it look exactly as I planned? “” should I really continue hoping? “. In the midst of trials we can easily be discouraged, but, God wants us to be encouraged and to keep encouraging each other in The Lord.
At times, we don’t find anyone around us to encourage us, if that’s so, then we should encourage ourselves personally.
Remember that you can encourage someone today and build the person just as someone encouraged you in hard times, and even if you were never encouraged in life, you can start encouraging someone today.
We all need to be encouraged.

Prayer : Eternal Lord, help me fight discouragement everyday, help me encourage myself and others and bless all those who encourage me daily (priests, pastors, family, friends, etc etc), in Jesus Christ’s Name I pray. Amen.
