Hi everyone, I hope you’re all fine by God’s grace. Today’s post is about how Christians can deal with difficult questions.
Have you ever been troubled by a really difficult question ? I have, and that happens to me alot with with subjects which aren’t clearly mentioned/approved of/disapproved in The Bible. Of course, there are some subjects which are clearly stated in The Holy Word of God, and this makes life easier because we know what God thinks about what we want to do or what we are about to do. However, there are some other topics which aren’t mentioned in The Bible and we may kind of feel, “abandonner” with no clues to what to do.
The following should help every Christian to deal with difficult questions
 1. Consult God/Inquire from God;
1 Samuel 23: 1-2, 4 NIV

When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,” he inquired of the Lord , saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” The Lord answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.” Once again David inquired of the Lord , and the Lord answered him, “Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand.”

King David was a fervent servant of The Lord. There were times God would want Israel to go for a battle, and times where He would decide otherwise. It wasn’t specifically stated in God’s Word that David had to fight x or y king at that specific time, but David knew he needed direction in his life, and he knew He would get from God exactly what He(God) wanted, not what he(David) planned.
When dealing with difficult questions, we should turn to God.
2. Check in His Word
Acts 17:11 (ESV)

Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.

At times, it may be that you didn’t even realize that the answer to your question wa found in The Bible. Before getting upset about it , try to be calm and prayerful and to search for answers in your Bible. You may need to search for a keyword in The Bible, or on the internet in order to find out what Christian authors wrote about it and which Bible verses they used as backup. Alternatively, you may share your concern with a brother or sister in Christ, a Christian group leader, a pastor, a priest by making it clear to them that you are looking for Bible veres about a specific question.
3. Ask for wisdom

God is totally willing and ready to grant you His wisdom in order to discern what should be done at any time. It’s up to you to decide to turn to Him in order to find wisdom and direction. If you turn to God, He shall direct you.
4. Be patient

I am sorry to say this but, you won’t always get all the answers at once. At times, God will leave you with unanswered questions, but this should not limit your walk with Him. While you are waiting for His answer and His direction stand still and await for your salvation. Keep on drawing closer to Him, avoid stepping on paths which are ambiguous and completely against His Word, keep on in your walk with Him, and in His time, He shall split into two the sea of uncertainty around that area in your life and lead you where He has planned for His glory and your good.
5. The Holy Spirit of God

When Jesus Christ was about to die on The Cross of Calvary, He promised that The Holy Spirit of God would come into their lives and teach them. The Holy Spirit is a Person, He is willing and able to advise you and tell you the mind of God about any specific matter. He can recall to your mind Bible verses which you had forgottoen and make you see them in a new light which answers your questions. Also, He can tell you specifically what God’s Will is, even if you don’t find that topic clearly discussed in The Bible.
Now you may ask “How do I know that it’s not my own imagination and that what I get as answer is really God’s Will” ” How do I know that The Holy Sprit is The One speaking to me?”
Keep this in mind

  • The Holy Spirit will never tell you something which is against God’s Word
  • If what you get as answer is in total contradiction with His Word/ His Commandments, then watch out, you may have heard wrongly, or you may have tried to convonce yourself of something which isn’t true.
  • The answer you will get from God will/should always always give glory to His Name (Any thought you have which doesn’t glorify His Name is not from Him)

Prayer
Father Lord God Almighty, Eternal King of Glory, please help me seek guidance in Your Word, and guidance from Your Holy Spirit, in every matter of my life, even and mostly the most difficult ones, in Jesus Christ’s Name I pray, Amen.
