CONTENTMENT

Hi everyone, I hope you are all fine by God’S grace.
Today’s post is about contentment.

Philippians 4:11-12 KJV
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. [12] I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Contentment is about feeling happy and satisfied.
I guess many people who will talk about contentment will talk about material goods, but I want us to bring it to a deeper aspect with The Help of The Holy Spirit of God.
We all have somebody or some people in our lives who aren’t exactly what we would have intended for them to be.
– At times we want a best friend and we get someone to argue with.
-We want a spouse/someone to love and we get someone we have to understand.
-We want a relationship and we get good relationships but also bad relationships at times.
-We want people to treasure us but some others hurt us.
-We want to be awesome people, yet we can’t accept or love ourselves as we are.
We live in an imperfect world, everything isn’t always exactly as we had planned. At times it is way better, at times it is completely different.
We don’t have answers to every question, but what is sure is that if it happened it’s because God permitted it to happen.

Lamentations 3:37 KJV
Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

Why then talk about contentment here? It’s actually because, may be you haven’t chosen to be in a certain situation now, but you still have the power to choose how you behave towards the situation while you are in it.

Philippians 4:13 KJV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

In Christ Jesus, you can find the love it takes to forgive (yourself and others).
In Christ Jesus you can find the patience to joyfully accept others as they are.
In Christ Jesus, you can find the courage to be yourself.
In Christ Jesus you can have the acceptance people around you need to change.
In Christ Jesus you can be a friend to people in need who are around you.
In Christ Jesus you can care for others and for yourself.
In Christ Jesus you can forgive your enemies around you and pray for them.
In Christ Jesus you can be contempt and still act extraordinary no matter the people who come your way.

Matthew 5:43-48 KJV
Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. [44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; [45] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. [46] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? [47] And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others ? do not even the publicans so? [48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
