Hello blessed child of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace. Permit me to ask; are you going through something difficult right now?
Are things really hard and demanding right now in your life? At your job, in your marriage, in your relationships, in your singleness etc. ?
I believe our two greatest enemies when dealing with difficult seasons are pain and fear.
This is probably because they blur our vision so much that we become unable to appreciate what God is doing in our lives through the whole season.
Finding hope and maintaining our faith even though we’re in the midst of difficult times is for sure the secret behind the song “Carry me” by Audrey Assad.

(Sorry, due to technical problems, no lyrics for today)
Ok
Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 NLT

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

When we’re going through difficult times, everything is extremely painful. We are hurt and broken, and this pain is so big that we tend to ask ourselves if it is possible that we ever feel better.
The pain makes us lose sight of the fact that in Christ Jesus everything is possible, and God can change our situation from worse to best in the twinkle of an eye.
If we rely solely on our pain to live our lives, we’ll lose hope, and we won’t want to live that much anymore.
On the other hand, fear is good at blocking our faith if we let it do so.
When we focus on the difficult times we’re living in and on how bad it has been, we become unable to have faith that God can make things become better.
Our fear that things go from bad to worse creates a highway in our minds which gives no room for the eventuality of believing that God is able to save us.
Proverbs 23:7a KJV

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Proverbs 24:10 NLT

If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small.

As you see, pain and fear can be by-products of your difficult season. Also, they keep you in that season even longer, because you do not believe.
Now ask yourself “How can I get rid of the dangers of pain and fear which I experience right now ?”
The answer is simple; decide to keep a mindset of hope and faith.
Yes I know, it’s easier said than done and it requires discipline every minute, but the results are definitely worth it.
The moment you decide this:
“Though I feel the pain, though it’s hard and I’m hurt, and it sucks, I’m going to keep my eyes on Jesus.”
“I know it’s not easy right now, but I know that the God that I serve is faithful and He will deliver me in His time”
“And even if I remain in this situation for longer than what I expected, while I’m carrying my cross, He’s carrying me.”
“It will be well in Jesus’ Name. I refuse to let fear govern my life but I’ll use this fear as a platform for faith”
Put faith and hope in the equation.
1 Peter 5:10 NLT

In His kindness God called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.

The same God who helped you out in the past is The One who’ll help you this time around. It’s just a question of time and of faith. Decide to hope today, because God’s promises are sure.

Exercise

1. Draw a table.
On the left side, add your pains and your fears. On the right side, write a positive confession/declaration of hope and faith.
2. Look at this table every morning when you wake up, and read out loud your positive confession/declaration of faith.

Prayer

Father Lord God Almighty, thank You so much for helping me fight pain and fear with Your encouraging Word. Help me not surrender to negative emotions but to surrender to Your Word with hope and faith. In Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
