1 Peter 2:24 NIV“He Himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by His wounds you have been healed.”

Hello beloved child of God, I hope you’re fine by God’s grace.

Today is Good Friday, a day where worldwide we commemorate the death of Jesus Christ on The Cross of Calvary.

Did you know that before dying on The Cross He was beaten and wounded?

Luke 22:63‭-‬64 NIV

The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating Him. They blindfolded Him and demanded, “Prophesy! Who hit you?”

Did you know that by His wounds you were healed?

Isaiah 53:3‭-‬11 NIV

He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces He was despised, and we held Him in low esteem. Surely He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed and afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; He was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He did not open His mouth. By oppression and judgment He was taken away. Yet who of His generation protested? For He was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people He was punished. He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death, though He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet it was the Lord ’s will to crush Him and cause Him to suffer, and though the Lord makes His life an offering for sin, He will see His offspring and prolong His days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in His hand. After He has suffered, He will see the light of life and be satisfied ; by His knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and He will bear their iniquities.

If you’ve been clinically diagnosed with depression, or if you know that you’re suffering from depression, it doesn’t have to become the end of your story or the domain of definition of your life, it doesn’t have to become your identity.

Jesus Christ was wounded so that you may be healed from depression.

1 Peter 2:24 NIV

“He Himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by His wounds you have been healed.”

Perhaps you’re asking yourself “Does God want me Free from depression?”
-Yes He does

God wants you free from depression. That’s why Jesus Christ was wounded for you. Healing is in the atonement.

Depression is not from God, sickness and disease are not from God. Those are the works of the devil, and Jesus Christ came to destroy the works of the devil.

1 John 3:8b NIV

The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

God didn’t make you depressed to teach you something. Depression comes from the devil, not from God.

Nevertheless, God can make it work together for your good.

Romans 8:28 NIV

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

You’ve got to start believing that what The Bible says about you is true. By His stripes you have been healed from depression.

You’ve got to start believing and confessing the truth of The Bible. “By His stripes I have been healed from depression”

Prayer

Father Lord God Almighty I thank You because Jesus Christ was wounded for me to be healed from depression. By His stripes I have been healed from depression, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen.
