Hello blessed one of God, I hope you’re having an awesome day in The Lord.
We’re continuing today in the concept of worshipping God.
If you’ve been reading my blogposts lately, you’ve probably noticed that I am pro-worship. I believe you have all it takes to worship God. If He created you, it was for you to give glory to Him, and one of the ways through which you give glory to God is by worshiping Him.
There are lots of advantages in worshipping God, and we’re going to outline a few of them as we listen to “As We Worship You” by Don Moen.
Here are a few advantages of worshipping God:
- Worshipping God gives you joy
- Worship goes with freedom
- Worshipping God serves as a testimony, to bring others to Christ
We’re going to discuss these three in this blogpost.
1. Worshipped God Gives You Joy
Are you in a bad mood these days? Try this out. Take five minutes everyday in the morning and in the evening to worship God, see how your mood changes as you begin to worship Him.
Isaiah 12:3 NIV
With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
Worshipping God will not only improve your general mood, but will give you true joy which the world cannot give and which you can get only through intimacy with The One who loves you the most;God.
2. Worship Goes With Freedom
When you turn to God to worship Him, the words that you speak/sing aren’t so much about you but about God.
Worshipping God shifts your focus from “self” to God, it realigns your perspective, such that you are finally free from the prison of “self” to focus not on your shame, not on your pain, not on your past, not on your future, but on your Heavenly Father.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18 NIV
Now the Lord is The Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is The Spirit.
3. Worshipping God serves as a testimony, to bring others to Christ
When we worship God sincerely, it makes people “curious” about The One we’re worshipping.
The songs we write and/or sing, the joy with which we sing His praises, all these work for His glory, because when people hear those songs they learn a little more about God.
Isaiah 12:4-6 NIV
In that day you will say: “Give praise to the Lord , proclaim His name; make known among the nations what He has done, and proclaim that His name is exalted. Sing to the Lord , for He has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world. Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”
You (and the people around you) have alot to win by worshipping God. Why not start today? Or if you already started, why not make it a habit to worship God on a daily basis?
