Hi beloved one of God, I hope you’re all fine but God’s grace. I hope you had an awesome week in The Lord. I definitely got amazed at this story I read lately in The Bible, and I want to share it with you because it inspired my faith and I hope that it’ll encourage you too.
So, this happened at the period of the deportation of Israël to Babylon. The King of Babylon at that time was King Nebuchadnezzar and he made an idol and compelled the people to worship it.
Daniel 3:1-2, 5 NIV
King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. He then summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up. As soon as you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, you must fall down and worship the image of gold that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.
However, some Jews decided not to follow the crowd and not to adore the idol.
Daniel 3:12-13 NIV
But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—who pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They neither serve your gods nor worship the image of gold you have set up.” Furious with rage, Nebuchadnezzar summoned Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. So these men were brought before the king,
Ok, we could use this story to say so much about not following the crowd , or to say even more about peer pressure and stuff like that, but we’re going to look a little further into the story and see how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego reacted when the king summoned them.
Daniel 3:15 NIV
Now when you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe and all kinds of music, if you are ready to fall down and worship the image I made, very good. But if you do not worship it, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?”
Yeah, this is the part we should pay attention to.
Daniel 3:16-17 NIV
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from your Majesty’s hand.
THIS IS FAITH
Yeah, this is faith.
Hebrews 11:1 NIV
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
These guys inspire me. Unshakable faith, total confidence in The Lord. These men knew that even if they were thrown into the blazing furnace, God would for sure deliver them.
Try to transpose this same faith, and imagine if with this faith you could speak back to :
– your finances; telling them that no matter what happens God’s going to make everything you need available to you
-your studies; telling them that no matter what may happen, God is going to make you a success
-your marriage; telling it that God is going to restore it no matter the case
What if we had this firm assurance that God is going to act, He will do it, It will happen.
What if for a minute we could put ourselves in Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego’s shoes, and turn to this situation which threatens us, speak to it and tell it that God will make a way for sure and that they shall not overcome but God will overcome them for us?
Mark 11:23 NIV
“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
Let’s make it practical
This is an important moment, there’s something you’ve been praying for and doubting whether God could answer and grant you something so great and so huge. This is the moment, just seize this atmosphere of faith, and now, right now where you are, pray with faith, confidence and assurance, and decree that you know that God has heard and will answer. Tell that situation that as from now you aren’t worried anymore because your God will deliver you.
Prayer
Father Lord God Almighty, thank You so much for developing my faith through this wonderful story. Help me seize this moment and this atmosphere of faith to believe and receive my blessing/healing/newjob/peace of mind etc, because without faith it is impossible to please You, in Jesus Christ’s Name I pray, Amen
