Hi everyone, I hope you’re all fine by God’s grace and you’re preparing joyfully to celebrate Easter. Today’s post is about the friend who’s always with you.
In general, when we leave our houses almost everyday for work/school/church/market/leisure etc, we meet people. In fact, the places we head to, we get there usually knowing that we will meet our friends. We may spend the whole day with them, discuss, laugh, have fun and enjoy each others’ company, but in the end, when it’s time to get home, normally we all go our way. Even after pyjama parties, we end up parting and getting back each to his/her house/room. In the end we are just “alone” with ourselves, alone with our fears, our pains, our hurts, our brokenness, our flaws, our joys, our achievements.
Our friends can’t be with us all the time, and when we’re finally alone, we may have a feeling of emptiness and loneliness. This happens mostly when we’re just from having shattered hopes and disappointments. We may try to get rid of that loneliness by using the Internet, social media, calls and texts, without getting the deep presence we need in our lives.
Our friends can’t be with us always (24h/7d), they can’t attend to us all the time. They aren’t 100% available, and there can’t be. However, there’s A Friend, who sticks closer than a brother and who is with us always. This Friend is Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:20b KJV

and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Hebrews 13:5b NIV

God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

No matter what you’re going through today, no matter how hard, how sad, remember, that if you’ve made Jesus Christ The Lord of your life, He hasn’t gone anywhere and isn’t going anywhere, He’s right there with you, in the middle of whatever thing you’re facing.
Your friends may not always be present as you need, but Jesus Christ will always be there for you. He hasn’t forgotten you. Though your hopes may seem to be shattered, He is at work.
The Saturday after Jesus had been killed on The Cross, the disciples surely felt lots of pain, hurt, disappointment, but God’s presence and divine Providence never left them, because He was at work even though they didn’t know yet, that all that had been set up by Him for their salvation. God was at work, fulfilling His promises made earlier in His Word.
Isaiah 25:8 NIV

He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.

In the same way, you may not know today where you’ll be heading to tomorrow. You may have so many questions about the future, but God is in control. He’s with you always, He will never leave you nor forsake you. He shall fulfill all His promises towards you, and He promised to be with you always.
 Prayer
Father Lord King of Glory, I praise You and thank You for the assurance that You are with me always, and You will never leave me nor forsake me. I thank You because you are with me in the midst of my joys, pains, disappointments and You have a plan. Thank You Lord in Jesus Christ’s Name I pray. Amen
