that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
Philippians 2:10 NLT
Hello everyone, I hope you’ve enjoyed your day in The Lord.
As every day since the beginning of lent, we’ll look deeper into a Christian song.
Today’s song is entitled “Mighty Cross” by Elevation Worship.

Have you ever had a really challenging situation in your life? One of those moments where things look really hard and everything around you gives you sufficient reasons to be afraid of what’s going to come next ?
When we go through such moments, it’s easy to switch our minds to a “me, me, me, me, me” mode, in which the only person we can think about is ourselves.
That’s probably the reason why Paul advised us to take all our needs and requests to God with praise and thanksgiving, because that’ll will shift our focus from ourselves to Christ.
Philippians 4:6 NIV

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

The moment we close our eyes on our problems and remain focused on Jesus Christ, every thing changes. This change of perspective makes the rest look so little before God.
That’s why when you wake up at night out of fear/stress and that instead of dwelling on the fear/stress you choose to focus on The Cross of Jesus Christ all the rest seems insignificant.
That’s the big lesson we learn by listening to the song above. When Jesus Christ died on that Cross on that famous day, He changed everything for you and me. We don’t have to live in fear anymore, we don’t have to be lost and broken anymore, the earth, the winds, the seasons and circumstances of life have all been surrendered to Him.
Philippians 2:9‭-‬11 NIV

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

He is Sovereign and His Name is above sickness, disease, shame, guilt, fear, divorce, miscarriage, and whatever thing you’re going through right now. When you realize that all the obstacles in your life have to bow down before Him, there’s a certain peace which feels your heart, because you know that The One who is above all else has already won it for you.

Exercise

1. Think of the last time you worried about something non-stop. Did it help you feel better? What would it be like if instead of worrying you turned to God in praise? How would you feel?
2. Make a list of 3 things which stress you out or make you worried/afraid/sad etc, take it to God in prayer.
3. Once you’ve prayed listen to the song “Mighty Cross”, try to sing along or to listen deeply, and realize how big Jesus is and how small your problems are before Him. Thank Him for having won over it for you.

Prayer

Father Lord God Almighty, Eternal King of Glory, I thank You so much because Christ’s death on The Cross changed everything for me. In Him, I have life and hope. I praise You because all circumstances of my life will submit to Him, as such I have nothing to fear or to worry about, because Jesus is Sovereign, in Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen
