Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well by God’s grace, and I hope that you’ve had an awesome week in Him. Today, we’ll just try to remind you that God is concerned about you and also about how you stry to solve your problems.
I just don’t know how things are going on your side, but on mine, everything isn’t exactly as I would like it to be. There are still things I am waiting for, and things I am concerned about. I guess it’s the same thing on your side, just that the struggle may appear in a different way. In your case, it could be a relationship you are planning on ending, a debt you have to pay, or bills, or the planning of an upcoming event which disturbs you right now. Anyhow, no matter what is on your mind right now, I just want you to know that you are on God’s mind.
When we go through stuff, and when it’s really hard, we tend to turn to someone or something to provide a solution for us. The person or thing we turn to in times of trouble, and the reason why we turn to them matters. You shouldn’t be surprised to know that God wants you well. In fact, you don’t want to be at peace and enjoying life as much as He wants you to. Nevertheless, the outcome to your problem will largely be determined by the person or thing you turned to for a solution.
Please, take a look at this:
Isaiah 45:20, 22 NIV
“Gather together and come; assemble, you fugitives from the nations. Ignorant are those who carry about idols of wood, who pray to gods that cannot save. “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
You see, the person you turn to in times of trouble largely determines if, when and how much will get out of it.
The Bible warns us time and again about idolatry, and actually, it is for our good. Look at it this way: an idol is anything or person in whom you put your trust. Please, don’t get me wrong, I am not talking about trusting someone but putting your trust in someone. I’ll try with some examples:
- You put your trust in God to heal you, but you trust a medical doctor for his skills to take care of you
- You put your trust in God to teach you, but you trust your pastor for his preaching skills so that God can use him to teach you
- You put your trust in God for Him to keep your kids in good company, but you trust them to make the right decision
Trusting someone for their skills is not idolatry, but putting your trust in them as you should put your trust in God to fundamentally save you and be your source of joy, peace, life etc. is idolatry. God can use people or things to bless you, but you don’t have to see those things or people as your god, as the one thing or person you can’t live without ever. This type of dependency, you should have it only towards God.
Also, you may ask yourself why God is so much against idolatry. Actually, it’s not only because He is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14), it is also greatly because HE IS CONCERNED ABOUT YOU. You see, it can’t be helped, He is The Only One who can love you, care for you, provide for you, save you, build you, cheer on you, as you need. This means that if He is The Only One who can do that, all the others to whom you turn can’t do it, reason why you’ll end up being disappointed and feeling more drained than you were even when you initially turned to those idols.
God is so concerned about you, that He wants to spare you a brokenheart and lots of wasted time owed to puting your trust in people and things which couldn’t save you. If they didn’t save you it’s because they couldn’t, and if they can’t it’s because only God can. That’s why God calls you to turn to Him whatever the situation, not to idols, because the idols won’t save you, but He can and He will save you, only Him can do so.
Finally, no battery which season you are in right now, you are now equiped to find solutions in the right person, God The Father, God the Son and God The Holy Spirit, so, don’t waste anymore time drinking at the wrong well, and turn to Him.
Prayer
Father God King of Kings and Lord of Lords, I acknowledge today that You are The Only true God, The Only One who is able to save. I confess to You that in many occasions I turned to idols in my life, I looked to other sources in order to obtain what only You could give me, please Lord forgive me. Thank You so much for being concerned about me, help me guard my heart against idols and help me turn to You and rely on only You always. Thank You Lord for the people You use to bless me in Jesus Christ’s Name I have prayed, Amen.
God bless you all.

Thank you so much for the inspiring post. When you said, “God is concerned about you and also about how you try to solve your problems” that was a reminder that no matter what I may be going through at the time, God always looks out for me and does what is best for me.
I feel that as humans, because of our own flawed perception of trust and what the world thinks; we turn and put our trust in others because they are tangible and are like us, thus we could possibly relate to them. We put our trust in material things and things we can see with our physical senses because that is just who we are as human beings. However, I like that you pointed out that idols and the things we put our trust in won’t give us the satisfaction, joy, and happiness we long for. ONLY God can do that.

Hello @God’s warrior, thanks so much for reading and for commenting so richly. I am really glad to see how much you liked the post and how much you gained insight through it. Praise God, to Him be all the glory and praise.
Indeed, no matter the season in which you are, God looks out for you and He loves you so much that He wants the best for you.
As you said, it’s easy for us to put our trust in things and people which we can see and touch. It is easy for us to forget that when we put our trust in anything or anyone other than God, we shall only be disappointed. Thank God that He has put reminders in His Word so that we may always recall that we should walk by faith and not by sight
John 20:29 NIV says : Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
We can’t see God, but the more we get to know Him and grow in Him, the more we realize that indeed ONLY Him can and will give us the joy, hope, love, acceptance, happiness and satisfaction we long for.
Your comment put a smile on my face, God bless you dear. You are loved and awesome.
