Today’s post is about facing death, so, let’s dive into Scriptures.
1. Jesus Christ talked about death
John 11:25-26 KJV
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
2. We only have one life to live We only live once here on earth, then God decides when we die
Hebrews 9:27 KJV
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
3. Life doesn’t end when we die No, there’s a bigger picture
Revelation 20:12-15 KJV
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. [13] And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. [14] And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15] And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
After the first death, when Jesus Christ comes back, He shall judge all human beings. He shall judge the dead and the living. Those whose names will be written in The book of life (God’S children) shall spend eternity with Him, but those whose names won’t be written in the book of life will spend eternity in Hell, separated from God.
4. The big question is will you die in The Lord or no?
Revelation 14:13 KJV
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Eventually those who die in The Lord (ie already reconciled with God) will have eternal life. Then death isn’t the end of all for them, but the beginning of a new life for them, in Heaven.
5. How can I have eternal life? How can I die in The Lord?
Revelation 3:18-21 KJV
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Nobody knows the exact date end time at which he/she is going to die(leave his/her physical body), but the person can be ready for this today. Death comes unexpectedly, what if death comes now? Or what if Jesus Christ comes back now? Am I ready to meet my God?
We can accept Jesus Christ in our lives only when we are still in this physical body, only while we are living. Once we have died it is way too late to ask Jesus to save us.
Today He knocks at the door of your heart, today, while you are still in the physical body, so that He can redeem you and save you, make you to be a child of God and to spend eternity with Him. Today.
The best way to prepare for death, is to prepare for eternal life, that is by accepting God’S love and forgiveness for us through the person of The Lord Jesus Christ.
We accept this love by truly turning to God and asking Him to save us. Believing He will do so by virtue of The sacrifice of The Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.
You can say this prayer:
SALVATION PRAYER
Dear God in Heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9 that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. AMEN.
If you said the prayer with faith, be confident that God has accepted you in His family, you are now saved and forgiven. Keep courage, learn to know God’S Will by reading your Bible, ask His guidance, and let His Holy Spirit lead you daily. Pray often.
